Leading children to know Jesus Christ

while providing academic excellence.

This is and has been the mission of West Park Lutheran School since its inception.  Jesus said in Matthew 14:19, Permit the little children to come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.  This was an expectation, not a suggestion.  Deuteronomy 6:6-7, Proverbs 22:6, Isaiah 54:13, and Matthew 28:19 give specific instructions about the education of children.  Everything we do should be based on our mission.  Does it lead children to Jesus Christ and/or does it provide academic excellence?

Our restructuring for next year will enable us to better lead children to Jesus through religion classes taught by our Pastors and Chapel services that involve four or five grades.  The addition of learning centers will assure that each childs learning style will be met.  Much prayer and planning has been put into this effort.  Please continue to keep us in your prayers.

During the summer four of our teachers will be attending classes to improve their skills in integrated instruction.  They are Mrs. Oerkfitz, Mr. McDermott, Mrs. Ross and Mrs. Vinson.  Keep them in your prayers.

I am in the midst of interviewing for both teachers and aides.  At this time, Miss Hohman, Miss Steinke, Miss Young and Mrs. Chamot will not be returning next year.   We are very appreciative of the outstanding service they have given to WPLS.  Please pray that God will guide them as they continue their ministries elsewhere.
